It’s a damp and dreary start to this day after Christmas.
Temperatures across Metro Detroit are mild in the mid to upper 30s, so any precipitation will be in the form of rain.
However, patchy freezing fog and drizzle are expected across northern lower Michigan through early this morning. Light icing on the roads will also be possible up by the Tri-Cities area.
Sunrise is at 8:01 a.m.
Clouds hang around today with patches of drizzle. Highs will be around 40 this afternoon.
Sunset is at 5:07 p.m.
Light rain arrives after midnight and lasts into early Friday. We spend the daylight hours mainly dry tomorrow before more widespread rain arrives late Friday, marking the start of a mild and rainy weekend with highs that reach the 50s on Saturday.
Temperatures will begin a gradual slide on Sunday through next week as temperatures get closer to seasonal highs to start the new year. Plan more multiple rounds of rain through the weekend and again on New Year’s Eve.
