Snow showers & breezy winds to start the work week in Metro Detroit

Sunshine returns for Tuesday before another chance of snow showers is in the forecast midweek

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy skies, a chance of snow showers. High: 26.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies early, decreasing clouds. Low: 16.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy skies. High: 27.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies. Low: 15.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy skies, a chance of snow showers. High: 23.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies. Low: 8. Wind chill values near or below zero expected.

We saw some much needed sunshine through the end of the weekend on Sunday with cold temperatures sticking around, but we have brought more clouds into the forecast overnight last night into this morning, and we will also bring the chances of winter weather into the forecast for the start of the work week.

We will bring back the chance of some snow showers into the forecast for Monday thanks to the Northwesterly flow turning on the lake effect snow machine. Temperatures not moving a whole lot once again, only heading into the upper 20s by Monday afternoon. Breezy winds will keep the wind chills into the teens to single digits, especially in the afternoon/evening. Expect wind gusts in excess of 20-25 MPH through much of the day.

Expect the clouds to thin out overnight Monday night into Tuesday Morning. Cold temperatures remain, overnight lows dropping into the middle teens by Tuesday Morning.

Sunshine will return looking ahead with some cloud cover looking ahead into our Tuesday thanks to high pressure building into the region. High temperatures remaining cold, daytime high temperatures heading back into the 20s by Tuesday afternoon.

We keep the chance of some snow into the forecast, looking ahead into the middle of next week on Wednesday, with another disturbance sinking to the south and east out of Canada. High temperatures into the mid 20s by the time we get to the middle of next week, and we will keep the cloud cover into the forecast for Thursday before another chance of snow works into the region by the end of the week on Friday. High temperatures remaining below average in the middle 20s by Friday afternoon.

As of right now, as an area of low pressure moves East of the region, we would keep the chance of snow in the forecast for the start of next weekend. High temperatures heading into the upper 20s by Saturday afternoon.

That round of snow moves out by the afternoon hours on Saturday, but we will keep the cloud cover into the forecast into the afternoon and evening, but it looks like another system will bring a chance of snow back into the forecast for Sunday afternoon and evening to the region. High temperatures remaining in the upper 20s for the end of the weekend on Sunday.
