A few snow showers and pockets of freezing rain will continue into the overnight hours, which could lead to patches of black ice in Southeast Michigan on Sunday night and Monday morning.
Temperatures will fall to the lower to mid 20s overnight. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10 to 14 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
Monday
Slick roads could lead to hazardous driving conditions Monday morning. People should allow extra time to get to their destination. It will be mostly cloudy with the chance of lake-effect snow showers. Temperatures will be in the mid 20s and nearly steady through the early afternoon. Temperatures will begin falling in the evening with wind chills in the single-digits. Winds will be out of the west-southwest at 12 to 20 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.
The chance of snow showers will continue into Monday night. Temperatures will fall into the lower teens near Detroit. Some communities in the Thumb will see single digits.
Tuesday
Tuesday morning will see wind chill values ranging from -5 to 5 degrees. Highs will only be in the upper teens to lower 20s, but the Great Lakes will help to moderate temperatures during this arctic blast. Lake-effect snow showers will be possible throughout the day.
Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy and cold. Lows will fall to 10 to 14 degrees. Expect single-digit and subzero wind chills.
Wednesday
The colder-than-usual weather will continue Wednesday. It will be mostly cloudy with highs in the lower to mid 20s. The average high is 32 degrees. Lows into Thursday morning will be 10 to 14 degrees in most of Southeast Michigan.
Thursday
Temperatures will start to rebound to around 30 degrees on Thursday. Lows will be in the 20s.
Friday and Weekend
Highs will reach the mid 30s on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday will be sharply colder. Sunday’s highs will only be in the lower to mid 20s. It will be the start of another cold snap.
