DETROIT – Light snow showers will persist this morning leading to a few slick spots on areas that are not treated. However, this morning I have seen multiple salt trucks out, so hopefully that keeps things a little less chaotic on the roads. Snow will pushout midday after leaving about a widespread half inch to a little over an inch in our northern communities. We won’t be quite as frigid this afternoon as temperatures rise to around 30.
Friday
A bit more comfortable tomorrow as we are in the low to mid-30s and drier. Friday will be seasonal with some sunshine mixing in. This is the best day in the 7-day forecast.
This weekend
Still waiting on some high resolution weather data to come in for Saturday morning. This will give us a better grasp of the rain/snow mix. As of right now, it’s probable to see 1 to 3 inches out of this, but of course the rain will highly dictate snowfall totals. If this remains more of a wet snow event, I cannot rule out totals upward of 4 inches. Stay with our 4Warn weather team as we get new updates. Temperatures will then fall Saturday afternoon starting the slide into the Arctic outbreak early next week.
Next Week
Dangerous cold moves in Sunday through Wednesday. Overnight lows will drop below zero degrees with wind chills falling 15 degrees below zero or lower, each morning. High temperatures will only in the single digits Monday and Tuesday. Stay with Local 4 as these temperatures could lead to potential school closings early next week.
