Wind chills as low as -25 expected in Metro Detroit

Tuesday night will be one of the coldest we have seen in years

A half inch to about an inch of snow is expected in Southeast Michigan on Wednesday night as Arctic air moves through the region, bringing dangerously cold temperatures. (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – Metro Detroit is about to see the coldest night its had in years!

Tuesday

The low tonight at Metro Airport is expected to be 5 degrees below zero.

The last time it was that cold was in January of 2022.

Wind chills tonight will reach -20 to -25, making it one of the coldest nights we have seen in years.

A cold weather advisory continues until noon on Wednesday.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, we’ll see Increasing clouds with snow showers developing in the evening hours.

The area could pick up a quick dusting to an inch of snow by Thursday morning. Keep in mind salt does not work well in these temperatures.

We’ll be back to normal temperatures in Metro Detroit again by the weekend.
