Snow on the way to Metro Detroit as wind chills remain below zero

Up to 1 inch of snow expected for most of area

4Warn Weather – Snow showers are expected to add to the frigid chill in Metro Detroit.

Winter in January isn’t for the faint of heart as we continue to be in an Arctic air mass.

Thursday

Temperatures on Thursday will make it into the mid-20s, but wind chills will remain below zero in the morning hours and single digits through most of the day.

Snow showers move in Wednesday evening and continue through the morning commute.

Most of Metro Detroit will get a half-inch up to an inch of snow, but a few areas in the Thumb could see up to 2 inches.

Weekend Forecast

Temperatures will start to go up for the weekend, but will still be below normal for this time of year, and there’s another quick shot of snow ahead for Sunday.
