This weekend is rewarding Metro Detroit with pleasant weather after a bitterly cold start to the week.
Saturday delivered sunshine and temperatures in the lower to mid 30s in Metro Detroit. Water from melted snow will refreeze as nighttime temperatures fall. Watch out for patchy ice on sidewalks.
Clouds will increase Saturday night with the chance of scattered snow showers. A light dusting will be possible, particularly north of I-94. Lows will be around 20 degrees. Westerly winds will be 10 to 15 mph.
Sunday
Sunday will give us another round of sunshine. The day will begin with mostly cloudy skies, but skies will become mostly sunny during the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 20s to 30 degrees.
A gale watch is scheduled to go into effect for Lake Huron on Sunday night and last into early Tuesday morning.
Sunday night will be mostly clear with lows in the upper teens.
Monday
Monday will be partly cloudy and breezy. Monday’s high will be in the lower to mid 30s. Lows will be in the mid 20s. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
Tuesday
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries. Highs will be in the lower to mid 30s. Lows will be in the lower to mid 20s.
Wednesday
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of wintry mix developing in the afternoon. Expect highs in the lower to mid 30s. Nighttime temperatures will tumble into the teens across Southeast Michigan behind a strong cold front.
Late Week
Thursday and Friday will see highs in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny.
