Get ready for a mild and windy start to the workweek.
The forecast of gusty winds is prompting a Wind Advisory for all of Southeast Michigan from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday.
The gusty winds could make it difficult for drivers of high-profile vehicles, including trucks, buses, vans and SUVs. The winds will be capable of downing a few branches and power lines. Although power outages will be isolated, have a plan in the event that electricity goes out.
Locate flashlights and have extra batteries on hand. Avoid using candles during an outage, and never leave them unattended. If you encounter a downed power line, stay at least 25 feet away from it and any items that it may touch.
Gale warnings will be in effect for Lake Huron from Sunday night until 4 a.m. Tuesday and Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair from noon until 10 p.m. Monday.
The wind will already be noticeable Sunday night. Under mostly clear skies, winds will be out of the west-southwest at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Lows will be in the upper teens.
