An impactful wintry system looks to take aim at the region by the middle of the week on Wednesday and into Thursday. This system would overspread precipitation during the late afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday, and stick around through at least the morning commute on Thursday. As of right now, this looks to be a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain, with freezing rain being the predominant precipitation type. If this forecast holds, this would be impactful to the commute to work and school on Thursday. We are anticipating the potential for some freezing rain/ice accumulations late Wednesday and into Thursday. With temperatures Wednesday and Wednesday night at or below the freezing mark, we will continue to fine tune this forecast over the next 24-36 hours.
Once this system moves off to the East, we will dry things out by the time we get to Thursday afternoon and into Thursday evening.
Some sunshine moves into the forecast by the end of next week on Friday, expect partly cloudy skies. And yet another cool down. High temperature is heading for the low to mid 30s by Friday afternoon.
Another system looks to move into the region looking ahead into the start of next weekend. The data is not in 100% complete agreement, but right now we could see the chance of a wintry mix once again, like we are looking for the middle of the week.. High temperatures remaining close to the freezing mark by next Saturday afternoon.
Once this system moves off to the East, we will see a Northwesterly flow kick in, and we are keeping the chance of snow showers into the forecast for the end of the weekend on Sunday.
