4Warn Weather – The fog and mist have stuck around amid a milder Monday.

People heading out for dinner or attending the Atlanta Hawks vs. Detroit Pistons game will want to dress for damp conditions and puddles from melting snow and ice.

The evening will be mostly cloudy, with areas of decreasing clouds late. Patchy fog and a few flurries or sprinkles will be possible, especially north of M-59. A colder night will be in store, with lows ranging from 20 to 25 degrees.

Thursday

Thursday morning’s weather conditions will create headaches and hazards.

The wintry mix will continue through Thursday morning. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy, with highs around 40 degrees in the afternoon.

The above-freezing daytime temperatures will allow some of the ice to melt, but nighttime temperatures will tumble to around 20 degrees.

Friday

Colder air will flow into Metro Detroit on Friday and the weekend, with highs in the lower 30s. Saturday will bring another round of wintry weather.

Be sure to have salt or ice melt. Keeping a bag of salt, cat litter, or sand in your vehicle’s trunk could also come in handy.

The weight of the bags can add traction while driving. If you get stuck in an icy situation, putting salt, cat litter, or sand under the tires can help you move again.
