4Warn Weather – After we woke up to accumulating snow early this morning, we are keeping some snow showers under the forecast through the early evening hours tonight before we do see more snow moving into the region looking ahead into the upcoming weekend.
Once the snow showers wind down by mid this evening, we will break up the cloud cover overnight tonight and into early on Friday morning. Temperatures will drop thanks to the clearing skies and fresh snow pack, into the teens by early Friday morning. But when you factor in the winds, wind chill values be well into the single digits as you’re heading to the bus stop and out to work on Friday morning.
Then we turn our attention to our next major winter storm that will move in looking ahead into the entire weekend.
Expect snow to move into the region after sunset Friday night and into the overnight hours. Some of that could be moderate to possibly heavy at times. And expect that snow to continue into majority of our Saturday.
We may get a break from some of the snow Saturday afternoon and Saturday early evening, but then the snow returns in full force late Saturday night and into Sunday.
We are expecting widespread accumulation of much like what we saw Wednesday night into early on Thursday morning as we look ahead into the end of the weekend. I think to keep in mind as, the snow totals we are forecasting will happen over a 48 hour period from late Friday night through late Sunday night.
HOW MUCH SNOW
We’re expecting a widespread 4 to 6 inches of snow from late Friday Night through Sunday. Now, we are looking at the potential of seeing some places have higher amounts than this, especially if snow rates are higher for the second wave of snow moving in on Sunday.
Once that system moves off to the east, we will keep a few snowflakes into the forecast with a north Westerly flow to start next week on Monday. But then things get much colder looking ahead until next week.
We will keep mostly cloudy skies into the forecast for the first part of next week, with high temperatures in the mid to upper teens, and overnight lows, dropping into the single digits to near 0°. But when you factor in the winds, windshields will more than likely go below zero across the entire region.
