4Warn Weather – Most of the region saw a widespread 1 to 3 inches of snow on Saturday, and we are adding onto that as we work through Sunday.
Winter weather advisory: All of Southeast Michigan was under a winter weather advisory until 12 p.m. Sunday as accumulating snow will continue into the early afternoon hours leaving conditions to be snowy for everyone.
We are watching an area of low pressure strengthen and move into the Ohio Valley through Sunday, and that will give us a chance of accumulating snow. Some of that snow could potentially be moderate to heavy, especially along and north of I-96.
The snow will wind down Sunday afternoon and into Sunday evening, but we will keep a few flakes into the forecast late Sunday night into early on Monday morning.
The winds will also become increasingly gusty throughout Sunday. Expect gusts of 30 to 35 miles an hour Sunday afternoon and into Sunday evening as that low pressure center pulls east of the region.
Next week
We keep cloud covering in the forecast on Monday and Tuesday. We have another arctic blast working into the region as well.
High temperatures will only make it into the teens early next week, but once you factor in the winds, we are expecting wind chill values to drop well below zero Monday night and Tuesday night. There are also some indications that wind chills will remain below zero throughout the day on Monday.
Another low pressure center will move into the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic regions looking ahead into the middle of the week on Wednesday. So, this will bring chances for snow back into the region late Tuesday night and into the first part of Wednesday.
