The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center released its spring outlook and it’s good news for those sick of winter!

Arctic air masses, dangerous windchills, accumulating snow, and a couple of bouts of freezing rain have made the past few weeks downright miserable for some.

But millions of Americans are about to finally thaw out, according to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center’s Spring Outlook 2025.

The outlook paints the weather picture with a broad brush, but it does offer valuable insight into what parts of the country will see above, below, or average temperatures and precipitation for March, April and May.

As you can see below much of the country will have above-average temperatures for the next 3 months.

The Southern states have the best chance of seeing well above temps which will be a welcome change for those areas affected by unusually frigid temperatures.

When it snows in Florida, you know it’s been a tough winter, but it looks like those same states will be unusually dry at a time when they are already experiencing a drought.

Michigan sees equal chances of above or below-normal temperatures.

That doesn’t really help tell us a lot, but when it comes to precipitation it does look like we will be above average.

Well above in fact. An investment in rain boots looks to be in order.

But don’t put away the winter boots as it can still snow in spring here in the Great Lakes!
