Get ready for a warmer and wet week in Metro Detroit.

What’s normal?

The average high is 32 degrees for the first couple of days of the month and 33 degrees by February 3. The average highs for the final week of February are 38 to 39 degrees.

Through Feb. 23, high temperatures were at least three degrees cooler than the daily average high on 15 days at Detroit Metro Airport.

The workweek will see temperatures near normal and above normal in Southeast Michigan.

Monday

As temperatures settle into the mid to upper 20s on Sunday night and Monday morning, clouds will increase and skies will become partly cloudy. Winds will be out of the south-southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday night, skies will be mostly cloudy. Lows will be in the upper 20s to 30 degrees.

Pothole Central

The rainwater and melting snow, combined with the freeze-thaw cycle, will help potholes to form during the week.

Thursday

Metro Detroit will have a chance of rain showers Thursday morning, and the Thumb will have a chance of snow showers. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy. Expect highs around 40 degrees and lows in the upper 20s to 30 degrees.

Friday

Friday’s skies will range from partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. Highs will be around 40 degrees. While skies will be mostly cloudy at night, a couple of snow showers cannot be ruled out. Lows will range from the mid 20s to 30 degrees.

Next Sunday

We will have sunshine on Sunday. Skies will be partly cloudy, and highs will be around 30 degrees.
