Temperatures soared into the mid 60s, and 20 degrees above normal, in much of Southeast Michigan on Monday afternoon. These temperatures are typical of late April and early May.
The temperature reached 65 degrees at Metro Airport, which is just five degrees lower than the record high for the date.
On Monday evening, temperatures will slowly fall into the 50s, making it comfortable and breezy.
Under clear skies, overnight lows will be in the lower to mid-40s. Winds will be out of the southwest and south-southwest at 5 to 15 mph.
Tuesday
Tuesday will bring more sunshine. The passage of a cold front will make it cooler, but temperatures will still be above normal.
Highs will be in the mid 50s in most of Metro Detroit, but highs will be near 50 degrees in Flint and the Thumb.
The morning’s southwesterly winds will become northerly in the afternoon at 10 to 15 mph.
Skies will be partly cloudy on Tuesday night. Lows will range from the mid 20s to 30 degrees.
Wednesday
Wednesday will bring a mix of sunshine and clouds. Highs will be in the mid-40s, which is normal. Clouds will build for Wednesday night, with lows in the lower to mid-30s.
Thursday
The sunshine will return on Thursday. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy as temperatures reach the upper 50s. Nighttime temperatures will fall to around 40 degrees.
Friday
Friday will warm into the mid- to upper 60s. It will be partly cloudy during the day and mostly cloudy at night, with lows in the lower to mid-50s.
Saturday
Saturday will be mild, but a weather system will also bring rainy and windy weather. Highs will be in the upper 60s to 70 degrees. Lows will be in the mid 40s.
Sunday
Sunday will be cooler, with highs in the mid 50s and lows in the lower 30s.
St. Patrick’s Day
Next Monday will have a mix of sunshine and clouds. Temperatures will top out in the mid 40s to 50 degrees.
