Warming trend begins in Metro Detroit, but rain comes with it

Wet weather continues through Monday

Warmer air will replace the cool conditions in Metro Detroit, but there is a tradeoff.

Temperatures will jump 10 to 15 degrees above normal this weekend, but the chance will come with rain.

Thursday’s temperatures will climb more than 10 degrees over Wednesday’s highs, which will put Southeast Michigan in the mid to upper 50s. While almost all of Metro Detroit will remain dry on Thursday, a couple of sprinkles cannot be ruled out near Chelsea, Manchester, and other communities near and west of M-52. Westerly winds will be 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

As clouds increase, Thursday night’s skies will be mostly cloudy. Lows will be near 30 degrees in the Thumb, upper 30s in Detroit, and 40 degrees in Monroe.

Plan for a pleasant start to Friday. Temperatures will rise into the lower 60s, but rain showers will arrive in the afternoon. Then, under partly cloudy skies, mild nighttime temperatures will be in the lower to mid 50s.

Saturday will reintroduce highs in the mid 60s to near 70 degrees. Rain showers will be with us on Sunday, with highs in the lower to mid 60s.

Wet weather will continue into Monday, with a cooldown. Rain and snow showers will be possible with below-normal highs will be in the mid 40s.

Tuesday will be in the lower to mid 40s, but it will be dry.
