4Warn Weather – Check your sump pump and move valuables out of the basement, as flooding, rain, and severe weather are expected on Wednesday.

Rain moves in after midnight on Tuesday and mixes with snow, especially in our northern suburbs.

A couple of inches of snow is not out of the question for the Midland-Saginaw Bay areas and north, where a winter weather advisory will go into effect on Wednesday.

Here is the timeline for Wednesday:

Midnight to 7 a.m.

  • Rain/snow mix, all snow north

11 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Round One of showers and storms, which are expected to remain below severe limits

2 p.m.-7 p.m.

  • We are in the warm sector, which means temps will rise quickly into the mid-60s

7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

  • Showers and storms move in, some of which could reach severe limits. Flooding, rain, and high winds are the primary threats. However, hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

A Flood Watch goes into effect from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 8 a.m. Thursday.
