DETROIT – It’s a much warmer start to your Monday thanks to a southerly flow of wind. Temperatures will continue to rise well into the 60s today, close to 70, before a strong cold front pushes through Southeast Michigan this afternoon. The wind will shift out of the west and gusts increase into the 30 mph range with a few gusts near 40 mph by late afternoon and this evening. This will be “winds of change.”
Tomorrow
Much colder air returns to the region Tuesday. Wind gusts increase to near 45 mph through the day. Due to wind chills falling into the 30s, a scattered mix of rain and snow showers is likely for the first half of the day. Temperatures tumble by 20 degrees with highs only in the 40s, but it will feel nearly 30 degrees cooler given that wind chills will stay in the 30s.
Midweek
Dry weather moves in Wednesday and temperatures rebound close to average through Thursday with highs in the 50s. Sunshine will also work its way in both days before rain chances return Friday.
Holiday Weekend
Rain is likely on Good Friday as highs flirt with 70 again. We can’t rule out a few embedded thunderstorms. A lingering shower is possibly early Saturday. Otherwise, we dry out and stay dry on Easter Sunday with seasonal temperatures on either side of 60 through the weekend.
