DETROIT – Showers and possible thunderstorms could develop late tonight, particularly north of I-69.
Tomorrow
We could have a lingering shower early on Friday, but we spend the bulk of the daylight hours dry. The passing warm front will lead to a much warmer day on Friday with highs well into the 70s to near 80 degrees. We will be turning windy tomorrow before the trailing cold front passes. Southerly wind gusts of 30-40 mph are expected in the afternoon. There is a slight risk (Level 2 out of 5) of severe thunderstorms Friday evening into Friday night. The threat is after 8pm and potentially even as late as after midnight. The later the storms develop the better the chance they will not be as severe. Right now, the threats remain damaging wind gusts of 60 mph and large hail.
Holiday Weekend
A lingering shower is possibly early Saturday, especially before daybreak. Otherwise, we dry out with highs in the 60s. We stay dry for services on Easter Sunday morning. As another warm front approaches, we could see a few rain showers develop Sunday afternoon with a better chance of widespread rain into Monday. Highs on Sunday will be in the 50s.
Next Week
The long-range outlook has temperatures trending above average through the end of the month. Plan for 60s to return early next week.
