4Warn Weather – The warmest day so far this spring, and thunderstorms are possible in Metro Detroit to end the work week.

Friday

Overnight, a few showers and thunderstorms could develop, but many of these storms will stay closer to Mid-Michigan.

Friday gets a little interesting.

There could be a shower before daybreak, but most of the day will be partly sunny and dry with highs in the upper 70s, close to 80 degrees.

Weekend forecast

The timing of a slow-moving cold front is critical as to whether or not we see severe storms Friday night into Saturday morning.

Confidence is much lower today as storms are expected to arrive after 10 p.m. That means we lose a lot of the daytime heating needed for severe weather development.

The Storm Prediction Center has lowered our risk level to a slight risk, which is a 1 out of 5 on the scale.

On Saturday morning, there could be a lingering shower, but most of the weekend will be dry.

A cold start to Easter Sunday is expected, but any shower activity looks to be at night, leaving us with a pretty nice day.
