After a nice day on Tuesday with lots of sunshine for Earth Day, we will keep some sunshine into the forecast for Wednesday, but we bring some thunderstorm chances back into the forecast as well.
We will watch a warm front lift north into the region as we work into the afternoon and evening. With just a little bit of moisture and instability, we will bring in the chance for a few thunderstorms. This will not be a widespread thunderstorm event, and some places may even be able to stay dry, but we have to bring them into the forecast. High temperatures heading for the middle 70s by Wednesday afternoon.
We will keep the chance of a few thunderstorms into the forecast through the mid-evening hours tonight. Expect decreasing clouds after midnight tonight. Overnight lows dropping into the lower 50s, so it will be a mild overnight.
The clouds will continue to decrease into sunrise, then skies will become mostly sunny for Thursday. With that warm front off to the north, that will allow for a southerly flow to kick in throughout the day, and will send our high temperature soaring into the lower 80s by Thursday afternoon. By far, one of our nicest days this week despite the cool temperatures on Tuesday.
Rain and thunderstorms returns to the forecast looking ahead into the end of the week on Friday, this is as another cold front rolls through the region. High temperatures remaining into the middle 70s for the end of the week.
Drier weather moves into the region just in time for the weekend. Expect lots of sunshine and a little cloud cover for both Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures cooler, but still seasonable. We’ll head into the low to mid 60s both days. Expect sunshine to continue into the start of next week on Monday. High temperatures heading into the lower 70s by Monday afternoon.
More clouds will move into the region, but as of right now it looks like we will be able to stay dry looking ahead into part of next Tuesday, but we will bring in the chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening with another system moving into the region. The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of the region under a 15% risk for severe weather for Day 7 which would include next Tuesday. This would be for areas along and south of I-696 which would equate to a Slight Risk or level 2 out of 5 on our severe weather scale. We will continue to fine tune these details through the rest of the week and into the weekend.
