4Warn Weather – A soggy ending to the workweek will be followed by a change this weekend with the return of Old Man Winter.

Showers hang with us overnight until around 4 a.m. or 5 a.m. Saturday, then we start to dry things out. Temperatures overnight start in the 50s around midnight, then drop into the middle 40s by daybreak Saturday.

Saturday

During the day, Saturday, clouds hang tough, and a sprinkle or two or even a couple of flakes can’t be ruled out, but we are anticipating more dry time. It’s also going to be colder Saturday as temperatures drop through the day. We’ll be in the upper 30s shortly after sunset. Winds also kick up Saturday, gusting over 25mph at times.

Sunday

On Sunday, brace yourself for the return of Old Man Winter. Expect cold, gusty winds and light snowfall. Bands of lake effect snow will sweep through southeast Michigan, particularly in the morning and early afternoon. While some areas might see a light dusting, significant accumulation is not expected. Winds will also be strong, with gusts reaching 35 to 40mph, so hold onto your hat.

Next week

Sunshine and warmer temperatures return Monday and Tuesday before rain returns for the second half of next week. The good thing, though, is that we see the 60s back most of next week as well.
