1-4 inches of snow coming to Metro Detroit this weekend -- here’s the timeline

One to four inches of snow is expected in Metro Detroit this weekend. (WDIV)

Snow is heading to Metro Detroit this weekend.

Here’s everything to know about how much we’ll get and when to expect it.

Thursday and Friday

The cloud cover will break up overnight Thursday and into the end of the week on Friday.

Metro Detroit will see some sunshine on Friday as well. Overnight lows will drop into the teens on Friday morning and warm up into the upper 20s to ride around 30° by the afternoon.

Saturday

Snow will make its way to Metro Detroit early to mid-afternoon on Saturday and continue falling into the night.

The rain-snow line is close to the state line, so a shift could change the type of precipitation we see, but snow is expected.

Sunday

The snow on Saturday will accumulate and could be enough for sledding on Sunday.

One to four inches is in the forecast for Metro Detroit.

Next Week

After the chance of snow over the weekend, calmer weather is expected on Monday and Tuesday.

Temperatures will be in the lower 30s by Monday afternoon, before dropping into the upper 20s by Tuesday.

Snow showers are expected to move through the region again next week on Wednesday.
